Not Too Old to Fall in Love with a Bicycle
I have to admit I’m smitten. It’s beautiful, functional, soulful, and one of an increasing number of excellent things now being manufactured in my economically troubled hometown:
From the Detroit Bikes web site:
“The prototype was constructed in a coach house off Woodward Avenue, a couple of blocks from where Henry Ford once lived. We manufacture every frame at our factory in West Detroit. We weld them here. We paint, assemble and package them here. You? You ride them joyfully wherever the road takes you.”
Fantastic. If I hadn’t just purchased a bike last year, I’d be looking to get my hands on one of these. I see a great future for this company, and so I’ll be on the lookout for a used one in the years to come. Go Detroit Bikes!
