Welcome to the new, fancy-schmancy Green Hedonist

| November 12, 2012 | 8 Comments

Thanks for taking a few minutes to stop by our new-and-improved web site. My friends and I have had a lot of fun putting this little sprout together, and you’ll be delighted to know that I intend to work very hard to a) not swear at all, and b) not use the word “awesome,” over the course of this entire blog post! (Thank heavens it’s a short one.)

In response to a lot of questions, contributions, and enthusiasm, The Green Hedonist has been reborn as a clearinghouse/proving ground/hallelujah chorus of all those things in life that are both incredibly delicious and environmentally responsible. And yes, you can have it both ways.

We’re relaunching small, but with big plans for the future, including:

  • The Five-Minute Hedonist: For those moments when treating yourself is just what the doctor ordered
  • The Five-Dollar Hedonist: For those moments when that happens to be all you’ve got in your wallet
  • Friday Freedonist: Did you know a lot of life’s most amazing pleasures don’t cost anything?
  • Ask the Green Hedonist: Looking for something? Trying to green a particular self-indulgence?  Let’s figure it out together

This is the part where we put YOU to work:  Is there a feature you’d love to see?  Is there a specific type of help or support you’d welcome, in your quest to green your luxuries?  Somebody giving you a hard time about your wedge-a-day Brie habit?  Contact us and let us know about it.

Wander around, read a few posts, sign up for our list. We’d love to have you in our community.

Hurrah! This is just what I need to save my relationship! I’m the hedonist; she’s the green. I’m confident that Green Hedonist will help us both enjoy each others perspective far more – and maybe I’ll get more treats too… Thanks, Margaret!

Anna, how fun that you are each half of the Green Hedonist. I think I resisted “green” for a long time because it seemed like it took all the fun out of things. Finding a way to have both has really added a nice feeling to my indulgences — making them just that much sweeter. Thanks!

finally, no longer will I have the excuse that I don’t have the time or money to make sure I stay green when I indulge myself 🙂

Marc, I’m a big believer in “we all should do whatever we can do” – I’m not into judgement about any of this. Some days I am (truthfully) not very green, other days I’m supersustainabilitywoman. Even small things add up.

Great new site. Love your ideas and I’m especially excited to see features from the Five-Dollar list!

And don’t forget to include your list “You know you’re a Green Hedonist, when you take recycle bags to Nordstrom. Want to buy a Hybrid-Jaguar…” etc.

After spending the last week participating in the ultimate in human experience – my grandson’s birth process – I’m steeping in the Green Hedonist joys of being present regardless of the periphery of external influences. Margaret, thank you for keeping us anchored in honoring that which truly matters in this world.
